Sheila Bonini joined The Sustainability Consortium (TSC) as Chief Executive Office in September 2014, bringing considerable corporate experience to the scientific rigor and stakeholder engagement on which TSC is based. Her focus is on driving more sustainable consumer products by strengthening the adoption of TSC tools by retailers and large purchasers, and by working closely with supply chain partners to ensure TSC metrics drive change across the full product lifecycle. She brings to TSC a strong passion for working with the corporate sector to drive sustainable solutions that deliver long-term value – for society and for business. Prior to joining TSC, Sheila spent more than 15 years with the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Europe, South America and the US. Sheila served as senior expert consultant and co-leader of McKinsey’s Sustainability Transformation Service, and her work at the company focused on the link between social and environmental impact and financial value creation. Her advisory experience cuts across sectors and includes sustainability strategy, regulatory strategy, supply chains and consumer products. Prior experience includes investment banking at Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs, as well as positions with the Hewlett Foundation and Stanford’s Center for Social Innovation.

During her tenure at McKinsey, Sheila served TSC in a leadership capacity as a consultant and as lead on collaborative research work. Independently, Sheila led research collaborations with the World Wildlife Fund, the Carbon Disclosure Project and other TSC members. Sheila received an AB degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
