Retha Louw comes with 13 years of experience in the fruit industry having worked at HORTGRO, an industry organization for deciduous fruit, on a management level since 2002. Her work in Agriculture involved a number of activities, such as program management of several corporate social investment projects, communication, networking at all levels, public relations internationally and locally, as well as training and talent management for several industry organizations.

Retha has a degree in Industrial Psychology and Industrial Sociology obtained from the University of the Free State in South Africa.

Retha is responsible for managing the Sustainability Initiative of South Africa (SIZA). SIZA is a multi-stakeholder membership based NPC who support on-going improvement of working conditions on agricultural farms in South Africa, through identifying needs and building local capacity to respond with appropriate interventions.

SIZA, the Sustainable Initiative of South Africa, initiates change and embrace diversity to support growth, sustainability and productivity by looking after the environment, respect the rights of workers, and to initiate safe working and living conditions to ensure the best quality produce on a highly competitive international market.
