About the Conference

How do I register for the GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT 2016?

Simply click here and fill in the registration form.

What does the conference ticket cost?

The prices for GLOBALG.A.P. members and non-members are available here.
But hurry! We are giving out the first 300 member tickets for 150 EUR only (one ticket per membership)!
Regular GLOBALG.A.P. member tickets cost 650 EUR.
GLOBALG.A.P. non-member tickets cost 850 EUR.

How do I get my conference ticket?

Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email from us. We will then mail you your invoice. Once your payment goes through, you are officially registered.

We don’t send any conference tickets by mail. When you arrive at the conference, head straight to the registration desk. We will have everything prepared for you there

Is the conference dinner included in my conference ticket price?

Yes, it is. Make sure you tick the box on the registration form to save your seat. We’ve got something special planned, so be sure not to miss it!

Do I get a reduced ticket price if I don’t join the conference dinner?

No. The conference tickets are all inclusive. It is not possible to reduce the ticket price by not joining the conference dinner.

I forgot to register for the conference dinner. Can I still do that?

Yes of course. Simply fill in the registration form again and this time only tick the box for the conference dinner. You’ll receive an email confirmation.

Can I transfer my conference ticket to another person?

Yes you can, but only within your company. Requests to transfer a conference ticket must be sent to the SUMMIT 2016 organization office via email or fax. A transfer processing fee of €30 will be charged.

If I cancel my registration, will I get a refund?

Yes, but that depends on when you cancel.

 

Cancellations before 26 June 2016
Cancellations received by GLOBALG.A.P. before or on 26 June 2016 will be subject to a 10% cancellation fee on the invoiced amount plus a 30 € processing fee.

 

Cancellations before 26 August 2016
Cancellations received by GLOBALG.A.P. before or on 26 August 2016 will be subject to a 75% cancellation fee on the invoiced amount plus a 30 € processing fee.

 

Cancellations after 26 August 2016
Cancellations received by GLOBALG.A.P. after 26 August 2016 will not be eligible for a refund and will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee on the invoiced amount.

 

No refunds will be made for no-shows.

Can I pay for the conference ticket online?

Can I pay by credit card?

Can I pay by PayPal?

Unfortunately, payment via PayPal is not possible.

What are the costs for car parking?

Parking is available at Parking Oosterdok, which is a 10-minute walk away from the Beurs van Berlage, the conference venue. You can park your car at a cost of €12 for 24 hours. Parking Oosterdok is located at Oosterdoksstraat 4. Click here for the google map location.

What is the conference language?

The conference language is English.

Practical Information about The Netherlands and Amsterdam

What is the currency in the Netherlands?

The currency is euro and cents and the international currency code is EUR. The sign for Euro is €.

1 dollar is approximately 0,90 €*

Bills come in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200. Coins come in denominations of 1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, 1 € and 2 €.

Tip: Don’t forget to exchange your currency at the airport upon arrival!

What is the weather like at the end of September?

Amsterdam has an oceanic climate and at the end of September it’s well into Autumn in the Netherlands, with temperatures between 10° and 18° Celsius and a high chance of wind and rain, so make sure you pack a waterproof and windproof jacket. Both the SUMMIT 2016 venue and our recommended hotels are in the port area, so you can expect it to be occasionally windy and feel colder than the actual temperature.

Do I need a visa?

You need a Schengen-Visa to travel to the Netherlands. Fortunately, there are a lot of exemptions where you don’t need any visa at all. You can find the list with the nationalities that don’t need a visa Please note the special regulations for citizens of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Taiwan.

What’s the time difference?

CEST (Central European Summer Time) is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Meantime (GMT+1).

How do I get around in Amsterdam?

Amsterdam boasts an impressive public transport network including metros, buses, trams, ferries and trains to help you get around the capital. Among several great benefits, the I amsterdam City Card gives you unlimited use of the GVB public transport system (bus, tram and metro) for 24, 48, 72 or 96 hours.

Can I become an exhibitor at the conference?

Of course, you can. All sponsors have an exhibitor space reserved for them in the networking area. You can see the sponsoring options we have on offer here.

Can I become an exhibitor without sponsoring?

No, unfortunately not. Due to the limited space in the networking area, exhibit space is reserved exclusively for the SUMMIT 2016 sponsors.

Once I become a sponsor, how do I get information about exhibiting?

As soon as we receive your application, you will receive a confirmation email from us. We will then mail you your invoice. Once your payment goes through, you officially become a sponsor.

We will send you in due time a sponsor information package that includes exhibitor information and exhibit space specifications.

Traveling to Amsterdam

Where is Amsterdam?

Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands and has a population of approximately 800,000 inhabitants. The city is located in the province of North Holland in the west of the country, and is also North Holland’s largest city. Amsterdam is next to the “Markermeer”, which gives the Dutch capital a connection to the North Sea.

Are there any affordable flights available?

Yes, for sure. Amsterdam is one of the main flight hubs in Europe. Within Europe, we recommend you check the low-cost carriers, such as Ryanair, Easy Jet or Eurowings, to get the best rates. The Dutch airline KLM offers good rates for intercontinental connections as well as many direct flights connections to the city.

Where is the GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT 2016 being held?

The GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT 2016 is being held at the Beurs van Berlage, a wonderful event location in the heart of Amsterdam close to the Main Train Station and the port. For more information about the venue, click here. Check out the location on Google Maps here.

Can you recommend any hotels?

Yes of course. We have reserved a limited number of rooms for our conference delegates at a selection of hotels in Amsterdam, all within walking distance to the conference venue. GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT 2016 delegates can book their rooms directly with the hotel service of the Beurs van Berlage by using the booking code included in the description. Click here to view the hotels.

How do I get from the airport to the event venue (and the hotels)?

We recommend taking the train from Schiphol airport to the Main Train Station. It takes around 15-20 minutes and costs 3.30 €. Between 6:00 AM to midnight, several trains run in this direction on the hour. From the Main Train Station, you can get to the event venue as well as the hotels within a 10-minute walk.

You can also take a taxi from the airport, which costs between 40-50 € and takes approx. 30 minutes depending on the traffic.
