Hans Huijbers (1959) is chairman of the Southern Netherlands division of the Dutch Federation of Agriculture and Horticulture (ZLTO). Together with his wife Marian, he runs a dairy farm with a cattle shed open to visitors and farm café with outdoor seating in Wintelre, in Kempen in the Province of Brabant. Huijbers describes himself as a full-time weekend farmer. His diary is packed with administrative work for ZLTO, and for his activities as vice chairman of the Board of Supervisory Directors of Vion, and Director of LTO Nederland where he is responsible for the Sustainable Farming Practice portfolio. Huijbers is chairman of the Curatorium Food, Farming and Agriculture and of the Stichting People 4 Earth foundation. He is also chairman of the Supervisory Board of the HAS University of Applied Sciences and member of the Advisory Board of the Dutch National Forest Service. Huijbers is an ambassador for responsible land use.

Full transparency throughout the whole chain is just as important for sustainable food production as certification and labeling.
