She studies not only core academic subjects such as math or English, but also specialized subjects such as the elements of civil engineering and surveying.
She has been interested in farming since she was a child watching her parents run a large-scale farm. As she has grown, she has become increasingly interested in the the globalization of agriculture. Then, she heard that her school launched a project with the aim of obtaining GLOBALG.A.P. certification for the school’s apple orchard. This project coincided with her interests, so she decided to join the team managing CC and combines. Thanks to the effort of the team, Goshogawara Agricultural and Forestry High School was the first high school in Japan to receive GLOBALG.A.P. certification for its apple orchard in 2015. Now, she is trying to get GLOBALG.A.P. certification not only for their apple orchard but also for their rice field.
In the future, she would like to be a rice farmer and spread the knowledge and experience of GLOBALG.A.P. to other local apple and rice farmers around Japan.
